Hip, fast-growing, creative – Austin is one of the most exciting places to live and work, yet its long history of racial segregation, vigilantism goes mostly untold.

Examining the complex history of race, segregation, gentrification and their legacies, this film tells the fascinating story of how the personal is political and how public policy affects actual people and communities.

Weaving four different time periods of Austin’s history together, this film uses cinema-verité, artistically composed interviews, archival oral histories, re-enactments, animation and drone cinematography to dynamically portray how race has played an integral role in Austin’s development.
